IBJ Style supplement: Nikki Sutton's dream team

Nikki Sutton is still at the helm of Level Interior Architecture + Design but in her "free time" she and three very talented women style beautiful photos. You can read more about Sutton's styling business in my latest column but below I've provided some details about the women who help her make it all happen.

Polina Osherov, photography
Osherov has a Physician's Assistant degree from Midwestern University but opted for self-employment instead. Spending most of her time managing her husband's career as a motivational speaker, she started playing with photography on the side, something she'd be doing most of her life. Shortly after she and her husband moved here from Chicago in 1999, Osherov took some photos for the Naptown Roller Girls pinup calendar. That's where she met Sutton, who was then a member of the team and known as Smackie Onassis. The two have been inspired by one another ever since. "My style is upbeat and a little Pollyanna," she said, "whereas Nikki is a little darker. I have a lot of fun following her there artistically.

Irina Green, hair design
Green moved to Indiana 13 years ago from Russia and has been doing hair ever since. Her signature is "big" since it looks better in photos, she said. While her portfolio of competition hair and work with various photographers is about as thick as an old-school encyclopedia, she says working with Sutton et al has been the highlight of a 20-year career. The recent "hair hats" shoot the group worked on was intended as Green's submission to the North American Hairstyling Awards. Keep your fingers crossed, the finalists aren't announced until May 15. Green met Sutton and Osherov through makeup artist Kiralee Hubbard, who connected Green with a lot of bridal work. "Brides aren't my favorite, because they're not very adventurous," she said. Which is why she doesn't mind that much of the work she does with Sutton is for free. "When no one is paying me, I can do whatever I want," she said.

Kiralee Hubbard
, makeup
In addition to do doing makeup for publications like Redbook and Indianapolis Monthly, Hubbard has her own line of of cosmetics and owns an online makeup artist boutique. She began her career with Estee Lauder and MAC cosmetics.
